Strangely, just a minute after I decided to post these sketches, I stumbled across this article: "They are not 'Venus' figurines" by Max Dashú 2020
It really was a stumble. I mentioned the Cambridge University Museum of Classical Archaeology to a friend yesterday, and we were discussing a statue in a crouching pose. Unsure of the figure's name, I had searched for Venus and the search results were still up on my screen.
The article seems to touch on some of the themes (or concepts, or ideas) that I'm motivated by. That said, I didn't sit down and start with an academic idea for these. I drew them intuitively.
There is also a Facebook page called Suppressed Histories Archives. Perhaps a safer read than the website which seems to have some dodgy links (possible phishing or hacked pages).
