19 Grass Figure On a Lawn

19 Grass Figure On a Lawn

I did an Art Foundation course at Cambridgeshire College of Arts and Technology (now Anglia Ruskin University) back in the 1980s.

We worked in some lovely studio buildings on Paradise Street in Cambridge. What a wonderful year that was. Something of a coming of age year for me.

We had an exhibition in the grounds, at the Institute of Astronomy, University of Cambridge.

I made this wire armature figure covered in grass. I seem to remember it was a last minute improvisation. I really like it though.

I had permed my hair and I used to backcomb it and spray it pink. No photos though. There are hardly any photos of me. We couldn't afford much [analogue] film.

Tint the photo: pink leopard print dress, purple leggings.
