28 - Sprinkle of Spring

28 - Sprinkle of Spring

There's a fabulous pulse of Spring in the UK today. And it's Mother's Day. I sent Mum this tulip kiss (although we're not a big family for 'feel or do this' because it's such-and-such a date on the calendar). My neighbour opposite was having a Sunday roast with her family. I hung my washing on the communal laundry tree (a topsy turvy, kinetic umbrella), and indulged in a smidgeon of gossip. Everyone has their ups and downs but today was sparkling. A told me that D was dancing to disco lights. D, who sits on the kerb drinking and getting high, picked cowslips and put them on the window sill.

On my window sill is one of Mum's sculptures. She makes a range of sizes ranging from palm-of-your-hand to taller-than-you and this is a small one. It's made of stained wood, with sea glass forming a circle around the edge.
