There's an app that I discovered when I was interested in street photography some years ago, and I still have it on my phone.
It's called the Photo Ephemeris and it offers an interactive display, based on calculated positions of astronomical objects over time. In other words, you can drop a pin on your house, drag across the time line and see what time of day the sun will wake you in your east facing bedroom. Or the exact hour, minute and second when rays strike directly along W42nd Street in New York.
My living room is north facing with a view over the shadiest corner of a communal garden. Once Summer has properly kicked in, the sun will bob high enough to percolate through some delicious, warm, coffee-time sun granules and I'll be basking for elevenses every morning. Right now I'm measuring the shadows trying to guess tipping point day. According the the Photo Ephemeris it's going to be around March 30 - when the clocks have gone forward.
I can't wait. There should be an advent calendar for this!
