Square paper is hard to come by. The shops mostly stock A-series "defined by a consistent aspect ratio of √2... [which] allows scaling between sizes without distortion."
So I ordered half a realm of paper (a random size of 24 x 32cm) and took it to the local print shop to be cut down to a stack of squares.
I am making a piece comprised of multiple same-size, squares which will fit together.
I've been doing a lot of research into materials and mounts, and I think I'm settling on:
- 250gsm mixed media paper.
- Glued onto hardboard or plywood.
- Finished with a matt UV protective varnish.
